Richard Burt
Chairman of the Board
Richard Burt serves as the Chairman of the church and the Overseer Board. Richard and his wife Colleen are longtime members of Olivet. Richard serves as Chairman with great humility and welcomes conversation and input as we continue to move through transition as a church. He also enjoys singing on the worship team, for special music, and with the choir.
Tom Noonan
Vice Chair / Human Resources
Tom Noonan is Vice Chair of the church and Chair on Human Resources Commission. He has been with the church for almost 20 years. He has two children, Zachary and Courtney. He enjoys Mock Trial and following the Hawkeyes.
Cathy Strutzenberg
Preschool Commission
Cathy Strutzenberg chairs the Preschool Commission, which establishes all policies for the daily operation of the preschool, including hiring staff. She and her husband Jim have been at the church for almost 30 years. They live in Urbandale and have five children: Tanner, Andrew (Kali), Charlie, Tim and Claire.
Christine Mikkelson
Fellowship Commission
Chris is the Chair of the Fellowship Commission in which she leads a team responsible for social/connecting/relational activities within the church. Chris has been with Olivet for 10 years. She plays piano on Sunday mornings and enjoys music and reading.
Vance Hahn
Service Commission
As Chair of the Service Commission, Vance Hahn is charged with overseeing all issues pertaining to building grounds and finances. He and his wife Nan have two children, Alex and Chris, and have attended the church for more than 20 years. Vance is heavily involved in youth sports.
Marge McKeever
Outreach Commission
The Outreach Commission is responsible for all initiative focused outside the walls of our building. Marge McKeever oversees missions both worldwide and local, social ministry and intentional evangelism.
Bryan Osberg
Worship Commission
Bryan Osberg chairs the Worship Commission which manages the aspects of a Sunday morning service: ushers, greeters, sanctuary technology and choral and worship music. He is involved in music as a member of the choir, worship team and solo work. He and his wife Caron have been with Olivet almost five years.
Andy Bandstra
Deacon Commission
Andy Bandstra is Chair of the Deacon Commission. The Deacons are responsible for congregation care, spiritual direction and membership. He and his wife Connie have been with the congregation almost nine years. He enjoys yard work, fishing and being outdoors.
Tom Keller
Discipleship Commission
Tom Keller chairs the Discipleship Commission overseeing all the educational ministries of the church. All growth opportunities for children, youth and adults, including Sunday School and AWANA, small groups, midweek, camps and retreats are included in this commission’s work. Tom has been involved as a leader on Wednesday Night programs and overseeing the curriculum for Children’s Sunday School.
Janet Taylor
Treasurer
Janet Taylor serves as the church’s Treasurer. She is responsible for all expenditures including payroll. She prepares monthly reports for the Overseer’s meeting as well as quarterly reports for the congregation. She has been with Olivet for more than 50 years. Janet lives in Urbandale and enjoys photography and travel.
