Jeff Scherer

Pastor Jeff and his wife Marie joined Olivet in the fall of 2009. They have been married 32 years and have two grown, married children who live in the Iowa City area. Pastor Jeff brings with him 18 years of pastoral ministry experience, the last six being in transitional ministry. He is excited to be living in the Des Moines area and is looking forward to seeing how God will use him to help build the Kingdom serving with Olivet.

Steve Clinkscales

Steve began his pastoral ministry in 1992 overseeing the Small Group ministry at a large church in Colorado.  After graduating from Denver Seminary in early 1999, he became the Senior Pastor of a small church in Northeast Iowa for six years.  In November of 2005, Steve began his ministry at Olivet and his major responsibilities include Small Groups, Christian Education, and Congregational Care.

Steve and Vicky were married in 1992 and have three children, Michael (14), Peter (12), and Sara (7).  They are all Denver Bronco fans and LOVE living in Urbandale!

Ben Massung

Ben has been the Associate Pastor of Youth since spring of 2006.

He and his wife Brenda were married in the spring of 2005 and they are the proud parents of Brieanna (Oct. 07) and Samantha (Apr. 09).

Pastor Ben likes to get outdoors as much as he can to hike and camp.

Ryan Lenerz

Ryan felt God’s call for him to leave his job and pursue full-time ministry in 2008.  In the spring of 2009 he joined Olivet as an intern responsible for a wide array of tasks.  He is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity at Bethel Seminary via a distance education program and enjoys using what he learns immediately in different ministry settings.

His wife, Michelle, is also active in the church, leading the contemporary worship team.  Together, the two of them hope to plant a church when Ryan finishes his degree.

Terry Lauritsen

Terry has been the office secretary at Olivet since 2001.  A lifelong Des Moines area resident, Terry lives within walking distance of Olivet.  She and her husband Chuck have two sons, Adam, a student in Des Moines and Austin, who works in the music industry in Nashville, Tennessee.  She is an avid sports fan, and loves movies, music, cooking, and spending time with family.

Connie Keller

Connie Keller is beginning her twelfth year as Director of Olivet Christian Preschool.  She grew up in a Christian home in Nebraska and accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager.  She and her husband Tom, along with their four children moved from Omaha to Des Moines thirteen years ago. During those years that have watched their three sons and one daughter grow from small children to young adults with the last one graduating highschool this year.

She brings the preschool a background in elementary education and years of experience working with small children.  She feels it is very rewarding to help them prepare for school in a Christian environment.
