Missions

We value folks called to minister in foreign lands, but we want to do MORE than pray for and send money to foreign missionaries. We believe it’s important for all Christians to actively love those who are less fortunate and/or oppressed. Jesus said that what we do for the “least of these” peoples is the same as serving and loving him.

Locally we work with Youth for Christ (in schools), Serve Our Youth (in jail), the Urbandale Food Pantry, and at Pine Lake Christian Camp in Eldora, Iowa. We are also working with recent immigrants from Burma and Liberia.

Additionally, Olivet invests time, talents, and finances in Haitian mission works and the library project in Pignon, Haiti and we have taken teams to Haiti every year since 2004. Through our national office, Converge Worldwide, we support missionaries working in Senegal and Mexico.
